Happy Halloween! It's Isobel's first Halloween and we had a great day! We got dressed up and went to John & Katie's house to play with Connor, Cameron, Logan, Katie, Lola and Phoenix. Nana and Grandpa came over to go Trick or Treating with us. We went to a street in the Old Northeast Neighborhood where they block off the road to traffic and decorate the entire block. It was quite impressive. They staged a car accident with smoke and victims and even had a hearse with a coffin and skeleton (see picture with Isobel - Daddy thought this would be cute). Oh and yes, I was dressed as a flight attendant. Here's video of Isobel and Tim trick or treating at her very first house. So exciting.

Earlier in the week we went to the Hunsader Farm Pumpkin Festival with Nana and Grandma. We saw all kinds of animals, tons of pumpkins, played with butterflies and went through the corn maze. That was Isobel's favorite part, the corn maze. She smiled and laughed the whole way through.

Only 20 more days and Isobel turns 1 year old. We are in the midst of planning and the party will be here before we know it. Remember, you can visit http://isobelsbirthday.blogspot.com

Isobel's 11 months old today!

Isobel is 11 months old today. Only 1 more month and she will be a year. It amazes me every day how quickly she is growing and learning. She's been touching her nose and clapping and while she can't say a lot of words, she is definitely trying. And she eats more than I do. You can tell because she's getting the chubbiest little legs. They are so adorable.

On Saturday we all drove down to see Grandpa Bob in Ft. Myers. We stopped at a rest area to give Isobel lunch. Believe it or not she did manage to eat more than she wore. But she was so interested in our sunglasses I thought she could wear mine (since she won't wear her own).

Here's a cute video of Isobel playing with Riley's tail. And here she is chasing Maddy around. Enjoy!

Another busy weekend for Miss Isobel

Well it was another busy weekend for Miss Isobel. She had Gymboree class on Saturday, we had brunch with some girlfriends this morning and this afternoon she was busy standing up. And I swear she woke up from her morning nap and she looked different. She is growing so fast.
Here are some videos from Gymboree class: Isobel slides, Isobel walks the incline, and playing with mommy.  If you notice in the video with me she is standing on her own. My hand is there but I'm not holding her up. She's getting better at standing and finding her balance every day. As you can see in these videos she can stand up now with very minimal assistance: Isobel standing upIsobel stands up. These videos are from this afternoon while she was hanging out with Daddy.
This morning we had brunch with some of my girlfriends: Laren, Elena, Cheryl and Bonnie. Laren brought her 6 mo baby girl Juliet (who is adorable and at 6 mo already weighs the same as Isobel at 10 1/2 mo).  Juliet thought Isobel was great. Isobel wasn't sure what to make of Juliet. I think this one picture says it all - "hey, who is this girl over here and why is she all up in my space?" So cute.

Today was music and sound day for Isobel and she really got into it. Nana got some different sized plastic containers, a pot, a spoon and a silicon baster to teach Isobel about different sounds. There was the difference between loud and soft and between metal and plastic. And she laughed at the sound of her voice echoing in the plastic. She obviously enjoyed herself.  Isobel has been working so hard to stand up on her own. She gets frustrated that she can't do it yet. But she's getting better every day. She could be walking on her own by Halloween. But that just opens up a whole new world for her and a whole new round of baby proofing for us! :)

Big Week, Big Day

It's been a very eventful week this week. One of her top teeth is about 1/3 of the way down and the other top tooth is about 1/4 of the way down. She's been drooling like mad.  But that's not all the good stuff. Okay, so on Wednesday, Nana and Mommy took Isobel to story time at the library. She had a great time and enjoyed seeing all the different kids. She's becoming quite the social butterfly.

On Thursday night Grandpa Bob came over for dinner. She couldn't stop staring at him. It's been a long time since she's seen him. Hopefully we'll be able to visit him in Mexico soon.
Today has been a very big day. This morning Mommy and Daddy took Isobel to Gymboree. She didn't get a cat nap so she was a little cranky BUT..... she took her first unassisted step.  It caught us completely off guard. She was standing all on her own and took a step into Tim. We couldn't believe it. Her balance is getting so good and she should be walking before we know it. And this afternoon we had Cameron's first birthday party. Such a busy girl.

Trying to walk

Well Isobel is trying with all of her might to stand on her own and walk. She is finding her balance and getting better every day. She is no longer content to sit quietly. She is always on the go.  Unless of course she is watching one of her Baby Einstein movies and she will gladly sit in your lap, lean back and watch intently (for at least the first half anyway). We had a play date today with Natasha and Zoe at Gymboree. Isobel loved it. We sang songs and danced and played with the giant parachute. It was great.
Mommy and Daddy have started planning Isobel's first birthday. Yeah, I know it's still 2 months away. But time goes by so fast and it will be here before we know it.
Here are a few videos. Enjoy. Walking with drum. Coming to say hi.  More Isobel.

Isobel turned 10 months old

This past week has been a very active week for Miss Isobel.  She is constantly trying to stand up and find her balance. Here are two examples: Trying part 1 and trying part 2 She's also getting one of her top teeth - Finally! It hasn't made an appearance in any photos yet but hopefully will soon. And yesterday Isobel turned 10 months old. I can't believe how fast she is growing and changing. We went to the zoo again and got too see snakes, deer, manatees, turtles, a tiger, a sloth bear, monkeys, giraffe, a pygmy hippo, a cheetah and a rhinoceros. It was a very exciting day. I look forward to seeing what new things 10 months has in store for us. Perhaps she'll be walking soon. Stay tuned.
