Isobel is 18 mo old
Well, Isobel is 18 months old now and you would think she was 18 years old. She's still the most beautiful and sweet little girl, but she has a diva personality that rivals even Beyonce or J-Lo. I guess you can say we are officially in the terrible twos. We had her 18 mo well visit with the pediatrician and the doctor was very impressed with Isobel's vocabulary and sense of imagination. Isobel likes to feed and give drinks to her Abby and Elmo dolls, as well as let you know when they've gone poop and need to be cleaned. Seriously. It's so sweet. She even brushes their hair and teeth. But when Isobel wants something, she wants it and is willing to scream and cry - even to the point of getting sick, which she did today.
The doctor gave us a new prescription for her never ending runny nose and cough. She hates the taste but after only 2 doses she's already showing signs of improvement. And after 8 weeks of being sick I'm finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel too. Although my doctor wants me to go to an allergist. I have an appointment on June 2 so we'll see how that goes.
Everyone is doing good. It's Tim's birthday tomorrow and we'll be spending a quite day as a family. We were hoping to celebrate in our new house but we still haven't closed yet. The banks are dragging their feet. Which is a shame because we have this long weekend when we could be getting so much work done.
Take care and have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

Food
With Isobel not feeling well she's been a picky eater. But as you can see from the pictures when she is hungry she likes to two fist it and show it off.
I had a terrific Mother's Day. Tim made a wonderful breakfast for us and Wayne & Tracy and then I went shopping with the girls for a few hours. It was nice to spend time with Tracy and Katie just the girls - I can't even remember how long it's been since our last girls day.
After we move into the house we'll start seriously potty training Isobel. She's very interested in the potty and Nana and Grandpa even bought her some Elmo panties. But I know the move will be a big change and I don't want to overwhelm her.

Happy Cinco de Seis!
Well for the first time in the eight years that Tim and I have been together we celebrated Cinco de Mayo just the two/three of us. We had a great day just relaxing and spending the day with Isobel and then went out for a quiet dinner just the two of us. Definitely different then our usual cinco celebration.
We are hoping to close on the new house this Friday. We did another walk through yesterday and it was just a reminder of all the work that awaits us before we can move it. But it was very exciting. We can both see the potential in this house and can't wait to make it our new home.
Isobel is doing great. She continues to add new words every day and is still fascinated with Sesame Street. Abby, Elmo, Count, Big Bird, Oscar, Cookie Monster, she knows them all. She has been fighting a cough and runny nose for a couple of weeks now. So we are keeping an eye on that. She's also got her eye teeth coming in so that's only helping the situation. :)
Here are some recent photos of our Miss Isobel. She likes standing on the floor vent and feeling the cool air. And of course she loves being near her Ribey (can't say her Ls very well yet).

Easter 2009
The Easter Bunny went way overboard this year. Isobel had four, yes four, Easter baskets. She got lots of books, toys, bracelets, pretty's for her hair, and the cutest ladybug shoes. Isobel had so much fun hunting eggs. Logan was more interested in opening them, but Isobel just wanted to collect them all. It was a great day with everyone at Nana and PawPaw's house.
Everyone is sick now in various degrees. Poor Isobel is so congested. This weekend we'll be washing everything in house including all her toys and loveys. At least she has her Abby Cadabby doll - thanks to Aunt Julie, Aunt Barb and Uncle Chris. She loves her doll and books.

Way Too Long
I know, I know. It's been way too long since last I posted. There has been so much going on I'm not sure where to start. Well the obvious is that Isobel turned 16 months. Tim and I went to Lake Tahoe with friends and had an interesting snowboarding trip. Oh, and we bought a new house! Hopefully we'll close in the next week.
Isobel has been chatting up a storm. She's constantly adding new words and trying new things. At the moment she is OBSESSED with Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. Aunt Julie has ordered her an Abby doll and we can't wait for it to arrive.
Tim and I had a great time in Tahoe with our friends. We got a few days riding in before I hurt myself and ended up at the hospital for X-rays. Thankfully it was just a bruised hip and a case of whiplash. I'm all better now. :)
But the best news is that we finally found a house. It's so much bigger and has a pool and room for Isobel to run around. We are very very excited. There's plenty of room for everyone to come and visit so please do!

Most Beautiful Girl in the World
I know I am bias, but I think Isobel is the most beautiful little girl in the world. She is happy, energetic, loving. She has the best laugh, biggest smile and prettiest blue eyes. She is getting so good at her puzzles and is finally starting to get animal sounds. She is constantly trying to say new words. Tim said she tried to say refrigerator today. Her boyfriend Logan came over the other day and you can see how sweetly he gives her the ball. They both need to learn not to tease, but they are so cute together. He always goes in for the kiss! Don't tell Tim. And here is a picture of Isobel with Chester, her duck. She absolutely loves to pull Chester around the house. He makes a quack sound and his head moves. The cutest thing ever. And she calls him Ester - so unbelievably adorable.
Here is a video I like to call "Please don't fart Riley".
